FIPAD+ FORUM: Talk on Reading Skills for students

On November 7, 2023, within the framework of the FIPAD+ FORUM initiative, Faculty of International Politics and Diplomacy successfully held a Talk on Reading Skills for students of the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam. The program is designed with the aim of assisting students in developing and improving their reading skills which is one of the most important skills for their studies within the Academy.

Attending the Talk were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duong Van Quang - Former President of the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Hanh - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of International Politics and Diplomacy, Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam; Dr. Ngo Di Lan - Researcher of the Institute of Strategic Studies, Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam; lecturers from the Faculty of International Politics and Diplomacy and nearly 200 students from the Academy. 

Within the framework of the Talk, the speakers spent time sharing necessary experiences and useful skills when approaching, reading and researching different types of materials with students. In addition, the speakers also gave their perspective on analyzing the structure and layout of major theoretical points in order to summarize knowledge in the document, as well as methods of developing critical thinking and verifying information. 

During the interactive session, students had the opportunity to exchange directly with the speakers, thereby presenting their questions and concerns when reading materials. Through sincere sharing and valuable experiences, the speakers gave practical and useful advice, contributing to supporting students in the process of studying and training in the Academy.  

The Talk ended in an open and friendly atmosphere, brought many valuable lessons and provided a precious opportunity for students to improve their knowledge and experience on their study and research journey.

In April 2023, the Faculty of International Politics and Diplomacy officially established the Initiative of the Forum for students from the Faculty of International Politics and Diplomacy, also known as the FIPAD+ FORUM Initiative. With a series of talks, seminars and dialogues on different topics, the Forum aims to complement and improve skills for students from the Faculty in particular and students of the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam in general. So far, the FIPAD+ FORUM’s Organizers have successfully hold two seasons of activities which are the Talk on Writing Skills and the latest Talk on Reading Skills for students.
