2022 - 2023 "Wings for the Future" and "Light up the Dreams" Scholarship Awarding Ceremony

On June 15th, 2023, the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV) organized the Awarding Ceremony for the 2022-2023 "Wings for the Future" and "Light up the Dreams" scholarships.

The DAV initiated the "Wings for the Future" scholarship for the academic year 2022-2023, targeting new students facing difficulties but achieving remarkable results in the university entrance exam to the Academy. The aim is to encourage and accompany these students from their first steps into university life, especially those with challenging circumstances. Additionally, the "Light up the Dreams" scholarship program was designed to provide financial support to students in reducing the economic burdens, thus helping them focus on studying, and steadfastly pursue their passions.

After careful consideration of the students’ academic performance, family backgrounds, and their resilience, the scholarship evaluation committee selected 31 outstanding first-year students for the "Light up the Dreams" scholarship and 20 students from other batches for the "Wings for the Future" scholarship in the academic year 2022-2023.

The scholarship awarding ceremony had the participation of Mr. Dang Hoang Linh, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Education and Training - Dean of the Faculty of International Economics; Mr. Vu Tuan Anh, Probationary Deputy Director-General of the Department of Education and Training - Dean of the Faculty of Communication and External Foreign Affairs; Mr. Nguyen Tuan Hiep, Head of the Student Affairs Office; and representatives from other departments and faculties.

In his opening speech, Mr. Dang Hoang Linh congratulated 51 outstanding students who received the scholarships and expressed that, "Through these two programs, the Academy and benevolent individuals hope that you will make the best use of the financial and mental support to excel in your studies and research. The Academy also expects you to understand that, in addition to the existing scholarship programs, you will always receive support and companionship from departments, committees, officers, staff, and lecturers to ensure that your academic and extracurricular activities at the Academy are meaningful, not only within the Academy but also within the community context. This is to preserve and develop the unique values of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam."

Student Truong Quoc Luong, representing awardees of the "Wings for the Future" scholarship, shared his appreciation after receiving the scholarship: "The support and companionship of the Academy are the flame that helps those of us facing difficulties achieve remarkable results in our studies. I, along with all the students present today, will always remember and be grateful for the precious sentiments of the Academy. We will turn difficulties into motivation, turn worries into courage, step by step overcome our limits, and bravely live according to our dreams."

These scholarships will serve as encouragement for the students to excel in their studies, research, and activities at the DAV, therefore becoming valuable contributors to their families and society.
