Announcement of the 2024 Vietnam - China Friendship Scholarship Program

In an effort to foster Vietnam - China friendship, the Embassy of China in Vietnam, in collaboration with the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, is launching the Vietnam - China Friendship Scholarship Program for students of the Academy. Details are as follows:

  1. Eligibility: 

Full-time undergraduate students at the Diplomatic Academy, falling into one of the following two groups:

  • Group 1: Students studying Chinese (First Foreign Language) with excellent academic performance and significant contributions to the community.
  • Group 2: Students facing financial difficulties.
  1. Number and Value of Scholarships:

Number of scholarships: 40, allocated across the two groups.

Value: VND 10,000,000 per scholarship (in words: Ten million Vietnamese Dong).

  1. Scholarship Criteria:
  • Group 1 – Chinese Language Students (First Foreign Language):
    • Cohort 48, 49, 50: Cumulative GPA of 8.5 or higher; Chinese language course GPA for Semester II, Academic Year 2023–2024 of 8.0 or higher.
    • Cohort 51: High school GPA (6 semesters) of 9.0 or higher.
    • Preference: Students holding Chinese language certificates or having participated in competitions on Chinese language/culture.
  • Group 2 – Students with Difficult Circumstances:

Students must meet at least one of the following conditions:

  • Students with disabilities or serious illnesses;
  • Students without parental support;
  • Students whose parents belong to poor households as defined by the Prime Minister;
  • Students from regions with particularly difficult economic conditions;
  • Students from policy families, children of war invalids, sick soldiers, or victims of Agent Orange;
  • Students with financial difficulties certified by local authorities;

Students facing economic hardship.
