"Dem Hoi Han Ngu" Competition

In celebration of the 65th anniversary of the Diplomatic Academy and recognizing the importance of inheriting knowledge in today’s rapidly developing era, this year’s competition, themed “Bridge of Knowledge – 知识桥梁”, aimed to enhance students’ awareness of the significance of preserving, inheriting, and transmitting knowledge from one generation to the next.

In addition, “Chinese Language Night 2024” sought to deliver meaningful messages about learning, cultivating, and accumulating knowledge, helping students broaden their understanding and enrich their intellectual foundation, thereby enabling them to innovate and contribute to a better future. The Department of Chinese Language and the DAV Chinese Club also hoped the competition would serve as an engaging and beneficial platform for students to connect, learn from one another, and showcase their Chinese language abilities—further igniting their passion for the Chinese language and culture.

At the event, the Department of Chinese Language was honored to welcome the Academy’s leadership, representatives from various departments, offices, and centers, as well as generations of lecturers and students of the Department. Opening the event, Mr. Phan Vũ Tuấn Anh, Head of the Department of Chinese Language, delivered remarks on behalf of the department’s faculty members. He expressed his appreciation for the theme “Bridge of Knowledge – 知识桥梁” and its message of connecting and transmitting experience across generations. He also encouraged the students—representatives of the young generation—to continue cultivating knowledge and nurturing their passion for the Chinese language and culture.

Following that, the Final Round of “Chinese Language Night 2024”, themed “Knowledge Reaches New Heights – 向前飞跃”, unfolded with highly captivating segments. The Top 6 teams that had excelled in the Preliminary Round included: 甜心格格, 泰酷辣, 桥梦行者, 芝兰玉树, 小红书, and Powerpuff Girls.

In the lively first round, “Talent Showcase – 才艺表演”, the six teams presented outstanding and diverse performances—from graceful traditional dances to humorous short skits. Each performance reflected the teams’ dedicated practice, boundless creativity, and passion for the Chinese language and culture.

In the second round, “Debate Challenge – 能言善辩”, the teams entered an intellectual competition requiring quick thinking, logical reasoning, and effective teamwork. This round allowed contestants to demonstrate their debating skills and deep understanding of social issues. The atmosphere grew increasingly intense as teams showcased solid arguments, convincing evidence, and confident delivery.

After two exciting and fascinating rounds, the results of the Final Round of the “Chinese Language Night 2024” competition were as follows: First Prize was awarded to team 甜心格格, Second Prize to team 泰酷辣, Third Prize to team 桥梦行者, and the Consolation Prizes were given to team 小红书, team Powerpuff Girls, and team 芝兰玉树. In addition, the Most Popular Team award went to team 桥梦行者.

The Final Round of “Dem hoi Han Ngu 2024” concluded with resounding success, leaving lasting impressions and heartfelt emotions not only for the lecturers but also for students who share a love and passion for the Chinese language.
