Director of AUF Asia-Pacific Region has a meeting at the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam

On February 27, 2025, Mr. Nicolas Mainetti, Director of the Asia-Pacific Region at the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), held a meeting to discuss opportunities and prospects for cooperation with the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam (DAV). The discussions focused on training programs across all educational levels, particularly for students learning French as a foreign language who are interested in gaining experience, learning, and engaging with an international academic environment. Additionally, the meeting covered several new cooperation and exchange programs for DAV faculty, staff, and students.

Representing DAV, Dr. Nguyễn Thị Thìn, Deputy Director, and Dr. Nguyễn Hoàng Như Thanh, Head of the French Faculty, participated in the meeting, accompanied by faculty members of the French-language program at DAV.

At the outset of the discussion, Dr. Nguyễn Thị Thìn introduced the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam as one of the nation's leading institutions of higher education, particularly in the area of French-language training. With over 400 students currently pursuing French as their first and second foreign languages, DAV emphasized its significant role in contributing to the development of the international Francophone community, as well as its active and enthusiastic participation in the cooperative efforts of AUF. From the AUF side, Mr. Nicolas Mainetti underscored the considerable potential for collaboration between the two institutions, noting that AUF’s global network has expanded, with particular emphasis on its members in Asia, of which Viet Nam is a key member. He stated that AUF is always ready to serve as a bridge between DAV and universities worldwide, alongside international exchange programs focusing on French-language career opportunities (PIMEF), among other initiatives.

Mr. Nicolas Mainetti, Director of the AUF for the Asia-Pacific region, affirmed the great potential for cooperation between the two units.

At the end of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the vast potential for cooperation and committed to further strengthening the relationship between the two institutions, with the shared goal of fostering the aspirations of future generations of students and contributing to the growth of a strong Francophone community in the future./.
