External Activities of DAV Leaders in Early 2021

Recently, at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV), DAV leaders had meetings and working sessions with Heads of Diplomatic Missions to Vietnam and international organizations, including Canada, the US, Finland, Singapore, the European Union Delegation (EU), Israel, India, Argentina, and Korea. These are activities within the cooperation framework between the DAV and Diplomatic Missions to Vietnam.

On January 21st, 2021, the US Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink visited the DAV and delivered a speech on "Importance of Vietnam-US Relations over the Past 25 Years and the Role of Youth". At the meeting, the DAV leaders expressed their honor to welcome the ambassador to have a talk with the DAV staff, lecturers and students. 

The US Ambassador expressed his pleasure to participate in a face-to-face discussion with the DAV students about the achievements in Vietnam - US relations over the past 25 years. His Excellency emphasized that the relation between Vietnam and the US was becoming increasingly deepened, affirming that Vietnam was one of the important partners of the US and the US was always willing to help Vietnam become a strong country in the region as well as in the international arena. The Ambassador also highly appreciated Vietnam's achievements in the combat against the Covid-19 pandemic. 

On March 11th, 2021, Finnish Ambassador Kari Kahiluoto had a conversation with the DAV Acting President Dr. Pham Lan Dung about Vietnam's ASEAN Chair, Vietnam's multilateral foreign policies and some cooperation directions in the near future. The two sides highly appreciated the cooperation outcomes between the DAV and the Finnish Embassy, as well as strengthening cooperation in the coming time. 

At the working session between Singapore Ambassador Jaya Ratnam and the DAV leaders on January 13th, 2021, the two sides shared experience in training foreign affairs staff, maintaining the operation of the Vietnam - Singapore Cooperation Center. The two sides also affirmed their desires to continue further cooperation in education and culture, exchange of young diplomats and students. 

At the meeting with Israeli Ambassador Nadav Eshcar on April 1st, 2021, the DAV and Israel agreed on initiatives to strengthen cooperation such as, (1) annual research exchange between the DAV and the Israeli Center for Policy Research (CPR); (2) organizing seminars, talks, forums with topics related to the situation and foreign policy of Israel, bilateral ties between Vietnam and Israel, etc.

Appreciating the cooperation between the DAV and the Diplomatic Academy of Argentina within the framework of the cooperation agreement signed in 2021, during the working session, Argentine Ambassador Luis Pablo Maria Beltramino expressed to the DAV leaders his wishes to continue promoting cooperation activities in the coming time through online academic exchanges, research and student exchanges until the Covid-19 situation is under control.
