

President Nguyen Hung Son Chairs the Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam (DAV) and Flinders University, Australia
On the afternoon of 28 November 2025, the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam (DAV) hosted the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the DAV and Flinders University, marking an important milestone in the long-term academic cooperation between the two institutions.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Nguyen Hung Son, President of the Academy, warmly welcomed Professor Colin J. Stirling, President and Vice-Chancellor of Flinders University, to the DAV. President Son provided an overview of the Academy’s functions, mandates, organizational structure, and notable achievements over more than 65 years of development. He emphasized the vital mission of training future generations of foreign affairs officers and expressed his desire to establish a strong partnership with Flinders University, particularly through student exchanges, faculty exchanges, and collaborative research activities.

For his part, Professor Colin J. Stirling expressed his pleasure in visiting the DAV and thanked the Academy’s leadership for the warm hospitality. He highlighted the congruence between the missions of the two institutions in preparing future diplomats, noting the strong potential for substantive and long-term cooperation. Professor Stirling also underscored Flinders University’s interest in regional issues, including the South China Sea, and its longstanding tradition in the teaching and study of international relations.

Based on the strong and positive outcomes achieved in training cooperation to date, the signing of this new Memorandum of Understanding reaffirms the commitment and shared aspiration of both parties to further expand future initiatives, including joint research, student and staff exchanges, short-term training programs, and co-authored publications. The ceremony took place in a formal yet cordial atmosphere, with the participation of the leadership, faculty members, and staff of both institutions..
