Seminar "Developing quality and sustainable agriculture, improving added value for Vietnamese agricultural products"

On April 9, 2024, at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, the Faculty of International Economics and the Organizing Committee of the Economist Up 2024 - Integration Journey successfully organized a training seminar with the theme: "Development Quality and sustainable agriculture, increasing added value for Vietnamese agricultural products”. This was the second seminar in a series of training sessions for the Top 8 best teams entering the competition’s semi-final round, providing participating teams with practical knowledge of Vietnam's export activities.

The seminar took place successfully with the participation of Mr. Vu Cuong, Head of the International Cooperation Department, Department of Quality, Processing and Market Development, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as a speaker. On the side of the Diplomatic Academy were Dr. Pham Phuong Ngoc, Lecturer of the Faculty of International Economics, Member of the Contest Advisory Board, Top 8 of the Economist Up 2024 competition, and students of the Faculty of International Economics, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam

In the first part of the discussion, the Top 8 had the opportunity to discuss with the speaker the issues of basic export standards of Vietnam and some markets, then introduced the solutions that have been applied in reality to help Vietnamese agricultural products reach the international market.

Next, outstanding issues in the export sector such as sustainable agricultural development and increasing added value for Vietnamese agricultural products were also mentioned in the next session of the discussion. Speaker Vu Cuong highly appreciated the enthusiasm and excitement of the Top 8 during the discussion, as well as expected the contestants to be able to apply the knowledge from the training session well to go further to the next rounds.

In addition to listening to the speakers' presentation, the students also interacted and asked questions related to the discussion topic. Moreover, the Top 8 also had the chance to be exposed to the process of analyzing a specific topic - cultivating essential skills in handling the challenges that the competition brings.

The seminar took place in an extremely lively and open discussion atmosphere with the students and valuable sharing from speaker Vu Cuong. Hopefully, after this second training seminar, the participating teams will be fully and firmly equipped with useful knowledge and skills in their journey to conquer the highest position in the Contest!
