The Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam exchanges with The Forreign Policy Committee Delegation of The Danish Parliament

On the afternoon of March 5, 2025, the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam organized a meeting with the Foreign Policy Committee Delegation of the Danish Parliament.

The meeting was chaired by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, Vice President of the Diplomatic Academy, with the participation of Associate Professor, Dr. Ha Anh Tuan, Acting Head of the Department of International Politics and Diplomacy, Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan Huong, Assistant to Director of the East Sea Institute and a number of researchers and lecturers from the Institutes for Strategic Diplomacy Studies, the East Sea Institute and the External Cooperation Department.

The Danish Foreign Policy Committee delegation led by Mr. Michael Aastrup Jensen, Chairman of the Committee, and 13 Committee members who are former Ministers of Ministries such as the Ministry of Development Cooperation and Nordic Cooperation, the Ministry of International Development, the Ministry of Trade and Development Cooperation, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Immigration and Integration, the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, etc.

At the meeting, the Danish delegates expressed their interest in the political and security situations of the region, Vietnam's foreign and defense policies, and the central role of ASEAN. In addition, the delegation also shared information about the situation in Europe, including developments in Ukraine, and shared Denmark's views and policies towards the region and related issues.

Through the exchange, the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam expressed its interest and appreciation for Denmark's role and efforts in security and development issues, and wished to promote substantive exchanges on issues with Danish partners.

The exchange took place in a frank and open atmosphere, helping to enhance mutual understanding in areas of mutual interest./.

Some information about the Delegation:

- The Foreign Policy Committee of the Danish Parliament is governed by the Danish Constitution, in which the Government is responsible for Denmark's foreign policy, but the Government must consult the Committee on issues of great importance to foreign policy. Consultations also take place before and after meetings of the European Council.

- The working session at the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam is part of the Delegation's visit and work in Asia.
