Thematic session: "German Trade and its relation to Vietnam"

The thematic session "German Trade and its relation to Vietnam" was held on the morning of May 20, 2023 at Hall A, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam.

Attending this special talk was the presence of the Trade Counselor of Vietnam in Germany - Mr. Bui Vuong Anh as the speaker. From the Faculty of International Economics, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Lich and all students of the 49th class were present.

Student representatives of the 49th class gifted flowers to Mr. Bui Vuong Anh, the Trade Counselor of Vietnam in Germany.

To start the session, the speaker mentioned the increasing importance of Germany as Vietnam's leading trade partner in recent years. Therefore, this is an important market share and of great interest to Vietnamese businesses and investors. Trade Counselor Bui Vuong Anh stated that Germany plays an important role in the EU and is also a traditional market, with long-standing cooperation in all of Vietnam's strong exports to the EU.

 

Subsequently, the speaker provided information on the Vietnam - Germany relationship, analyzed specific data including bilateral trade turnover, agreements signed by both countries, as well as Vietnam's strengths and weaknesses to demonstrate the opportunities and challenges for the Vietnamese government in promoting relations with Germany. With a highly specialized economic model and a determination towards achieving sustainable energy goals, Germany is one of the leading countries in production technology that we can learn from.

 

After sharing his valuable insights, Trade Counselor Bui Vuong Anh answered questions from students regarding topics related to free trade agreements, as well as notes on the process of exporting goods and developing trade between the two countries.

At the end of the session, the representative of the 49th class expressed sincere thanks on behalf of all students of the Faculty to the speaker Bui Vuong Anh for his passionate sharing during the seminar, as well as to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Lich for his dedicated guidance and support throughout their learning process.

 

Through this thematic session, students of the 49th class of the Faculty of International Economics have gained valuable and practical knowledge about trade in general and the Vietnam - Germany trade relationship in particular.
